The tubers are used to treat cough, dysuria, rheumatism, erysipelas and malarial fever parasites. The roots have been used in medicine as an emollient and coolant temperature as cataplasam for swelling and joints as lactogouge. The roots are used in medicine and is demulcent refrigent fever as poultice for swollen joints.

The bark is cooling, tonic and sweet. It is nice in vitiated conditions of asthma, cough, and pitta. Also it is useful in arthritis, fevers, convulsions, chronic laryngitis, diaphoresis, jaundice and urethrorrhea.
